In the true entrepreneurial spirit, Specialty Autosound Manufacturing was founded in 1989 by Greg Maas and Philip Flynn to fill a void in the car audio installation kit market. By addressing areas that other manufacturers had neglected, Specialty Autosound filled a niche that allowed it to flourish during the late 1980's to the mid 1990's. Trends shifted, so did Specialty Autosound. As the 1990's came to a close the company started producing custom bracketry for the installation of the newer generation of mobile electronics, i.e. hands-free kits, satellite radios and global positioning systems. By aggressively pursuing new applications and forming close alliances with their growing customer base Specialty Autosound Manufacturing found it necessary to found Cell-site. This quickly became the dominant part of their business and allowed them to concentrate on developing new products for this new market. By communicating with retailers and installers everyday a new product emerged from the brain trust at Cell-site….."Cellular Surround Sound". It allows a user to truly integrate his or her hands-free kit into the factory sound systems of Ford and General Motors vehicles. This product is a huge hit with retailers and customers alike and continues to gain in popularity.
